CAL-ABOTA looks forward to returning to Mauna Lani this year for another incredible conference week and to celebrating the 2025 Trial Lawyer of the Year, John E. Sweeney.
Nestled along the stunning Kohala Coast and in the spiritual center of five great mountains, Mauna Lani is a sacred oasis. Named among Travel + Leisure’s Top 500 Hotels in the World and Top 15 Beach Resorts in the U.S., Mauna Lani reopened in January 2020 after a complete reimagination. The refreshed resort is contemporary in design while honoring its Hawaiian heritage. The beloved CanoeHouse Restaurant and ancient royal fishponds remain, while updates include fully renovated guestrooms, an open-air lobby, additional dining venues, boutique shops, and two pools—including one reserved for adults.
Guests can enjoy a wide range of activities onsite, including two award-winning golf courses, tennis, pickleball, snorkeling, swimming at the beach cove, cultural talks with resident historian Uncle Danny, spa rituals, the signature Sunrise Canoe Paddle (outrigger canoe), and more.
The five-night conference package is available in a variety of room categories, including Mountain View, Partial Oceanview, Garden View (with direct lawn access), Oceanview, Oceanfront, and a limited number of suites. Packages include accommodations, daily resort fee, full daily breakfast, two evening events with cocktails, dinner, and live music, one evening cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres and live music, and an educational program featuring speakers of interest to both members and guests.
Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and family and enjoy a week of relaxed fun, connection, and the renowned ABOTA tradition of camaraderie.
